Understanding and Addressing Adrenal Fatigue
Adrenal fatigue is everywhere in modern culture, but why is that? It comes down to the difference between threats in our ancestral (geneticly adapted) cultures and threats in modern life. Dr. Amy explains the role of the adrenal glands, located like hats on the kidneys, in secreting hormones that regulate our stress response and circadian rhythms. She discusses how modern stressors, unlike ancestral dangers, continuously trigger our fight or flight response without the necessary physical release, leading to what is commonly referred to as adrenal fatigue. Symptoms range from overwhelming fatigue to more severe conditions like Addison's disease in extreme cases. The episode finishes with a mention of Debbie Moon's book, 'Histamine Life Hacks,' recommending it for further reading on histamine issues. Future episodes promise to explore the stages of adrenal fatigue, its impact on health, and potential recovery strategies.

It’s Sabrina here. I’m Sabrina. I’m talking for the Coronavarirus, but I’m not sure if you can go out. It’s not safe to go out without a mask because if you make one that’s okay and if you buy one that’s okay. But, if you don’t have one and you can’t buy one and you can’t make one, that’s not good–you can’t go to the store. Bye! I’m Sabrina.
MTHFR is a common genetic mutation that can contribute to anxiety, depression, fatigue, chronic pain, infertility, and more serious conditions like breast implant illness, heart attack, stroke, chronic fatigue syndrome, and some types of cancer. If you know or suspect you have an MTHFR variant, schedule a free 15-minute meet-and-greet appointment with MTHFR expert Dr. Amy today.
